What's happening under the hood

  • Whisper-tinyONNX model (~40 MB) downloaded once and cached in your browser's IndexedDB.
  • Inference runs on WebGPU when available, falling back to WebAssembly on older browsers.
  • Audio is captured at 16 kHz mono via the Web Audio API, chunked into 5-second windows, and never leaves your machine.
  • Cost to us: $0 per listener-hour. Cost to you: your laptop fan.
